Liz Zemke, RN, MS, CMM has over 47 years experience as a nurse. She's also an amputee of over 23 years and is the Amputee Liason at San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital.
In this video, Liz discusses the unique "Phase Two" program at SJV Rehab Hospital for amputees who have just received their prosthesis.
This program addresses the fear of getting your first prosthesis, helps new amputees master how to put on and take off the prosthesis, and includes a mentorship program that connects new amputees with experienced amputees — all while working with physical and occupational therapists who specialize in working with amputees.
