In this video, the narrator explains diabetic foot care. The American Diabetes Association reports that one in five people who have the disease will seek hospital care for their feet. Diabetics are more vulnerable because the disease can damage nerves and decrease blood flow making it harder to heal an injury and resist infection. This video explains the importance of keeping blood sugar levels in the target range as well as examining a diabetic’s foot everyday looking for sores, redness and irritation. This video also explains the importance of exercising the feet and examples are given.
