This is the best video demonstration I came across and it greatly helped me test my cat’s blood at home for the first time. Thank you.
And if you don’t have the option of two people doing this?
Good question. It’s disappointing the video maker didn’t reply.
??
So, what do you set the depth at?
Sorry but this video is pretty useless. You gave me zero information that I had not already read for myself in the instruction manual. Some recommendations on how deep we should go with the lancet for the different testing sites would have been nice.
How often do u need to do this?
Only when you need to check your cat’s glucose level or need to do a glucose curve. You don’t need to do it every day.
Becky Lynn a few times a day if it is like hummans
What if you have a strong, sizable cat who isn’t about to stand for someone jabbing a needle into his ear, let alone stay there while you get blood from it?
I pricked through the ear. Cat didn’t notice.
me too, my finger got it good and still hurts today so I recommend the cotton swab idea
This is a barbaric test method. I use a non-bleed method. I use a mechanics tool called a grabber Part number RAM-PRO36 and I use the grabber to hold a urine, sugar test strip, purchased from any drug store under the pet while it urinates. Its cheaper and does not require blood. Stop bleeding animals. PLEASE
What cat urinates while you hold something under it???
Getting blood is important if your cat is near remission as giving them insulin can be dangerous.
