@Fresh out of the oven id recommend sticking with glasses and contacts at your age. your eyes will change a lot until you hit your early to mid twenties. unless you have extremely severe vision problems i’d say hold off on the surgery for a few years. glasses and contacts aren’t so bad lol. plus glasses look cute as hell sometimes and make for great accessories lmaoo. good luck with whatever you choose!

edit: google has informed me that surgeons do not perform lasik on anyone under 18, mainly due to the vision stability issues that i mentioned. they generally require that the patient be in their twenties and that their prescription remain stable for at least two years before the surgery. if your eyes change, causing your prescription to worsen, then you would have to undergo another surgery to correct the change. it would really just be a waste of time and money to get lasik at such a young age.

Hey guys, I’m scared as hell to get this procedure, but my first appointment is in May 1, where they’ll be checking if I’m suited or not. I’ll keep you guys updated.
Pray for me PLEEASE, this is frightening.

      Alright, hey ya’ll.
      Again for an update!
I got a checkup again and they said both eyes are 20/20 vision!
So far, I can’t tell if my left or right eye are blurry. They feel the same consistency!
It takes like At least 2 months to get better and it did!

Some tips for BEST RECOVERY would be:
-follow your doctors procedure and schedule of your medication
-Make sure your eye is well lubricated
-Don’t rub or touch your eyes at all!!
-Stay away from technology for At least a month!
-Stay home for a month and keep away from the sun!!
-Don’t let any type of water fall into your eye! Doesn’t matter if you’re showering.
-Wait until you go to a follow up checkup and your doctor tells you if everything is fine. Then you can resume your daily activities.
-If you’re going out always take sunglasses! Always!
-Also, practice eye excersizes after follow up checkup, to keep your eyes blood flowing!

I had lasik yesterday and am able to see perfectly today, The procedure only took a few minutes, and it really was not painful. There was a bit of discomfort but it didn’t last very long

@Anders Well i think they should be fine XD it’s just something my dad told me from his experience when he got Lasik. His eyes are still doing quite fine and he’s almost 40, but ye from what I hear it’s best to wait till they’re fully grown which is basically around the age you got lasik at. I think you’ll be fine. depending on when your eyes stopped growing even if it was a year later isn’t that much growth left.

I just got Lasik last week Friday. My vision is now 20/15. After an hour, my eyes started burning really bad and slept it off for 4 hours. Woke up and my vision was excellent and no burning. Each eye takes about 3-5 minutes.
