“it’s a face that’s acceptable to society” That comment broke my heart, but I understand her point. The doctor did a wonderful job & I hope the adorable little man is doing well

As a scrub nurse (retired now), I’ve been on some of these procedures. The doctors that do these craniofacial surgeries are heroes, in my opinion. These are very, very complex surgeries and those surgeons who do them love their work and love their little patients. It’s amazing to watch them do what they do; its like no other kind of surgery. They do work miracles.

I’m late to this conversation, but I hope you do go into pediatric surgery. They are so totally needed in this country and there is no greater need than a newborn to have these lifesaving and life changing surgeries. I was a scrub nurse for 30  years and pediatrics was my specialty. We saw a thousand babies over that time who needed after birth care. In my 30th year, I met a tiny little baby who had many, many problems because her mother did drugs and alcohol throughout the pregnancy. Long story short, we adopted her, got her out of the NBICU and then I spent all my waking hours taking care of her and making sure she had what she needed. To say we love her is not the right best word, but she is our sweetheart. She’s now 31 years old, looks, acts, talks, and does everything a human being can do. People are drawn to her. We love her so much

I am so grateful for Boston hospitals being in my backyard they truly are everything this beautiful family said they are … when my fiance was critically ill I was included in the daily report and rounds and allowed to ask questions in the ICU it was beyond amazing and I am so grateful he is in bed next to me.now on this snowy morning off

My cousin was born a few days ago and she probably has Encephalocele (probably, because the doctor’s aren’t sure yet… It could also be Anencephaly, since she doesn’t have all her skull formed). I would like to know if there is an email of the doctor, or the hospital team that I could talk with. I am from Brazil and I’m looking for a doctor with more knowledge of these types of diagnostics to talk with. Thank you and I am really amazed with your work, this is really incredible!

What an uplifting story & amazing transformation for a cute, adorable & deserving little boy. I’m sure he’ll do great things in life, maybe even become a pediatrician himself! Such a great outcome!!
