What Is an Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) and How Does It Help Patients Recover?

An inpatient rehabilitation facility (or hospital) is specially designed for patients who have experienced an injury, illness or surgical procedure that requires rehabilitation. These patients must be medically stable enough to begin an intensive, comprehensive rehabilitation program. In many cases, patients in an IRF recover more quickly and return home sooner. At Kindred Healthcare we are one of the nation's leading operators of IRF hospitals. To learn more, visit kindred.com.
This place was very disappointing. They set very low goals for their patients. Whatever they can achieve in 2weeks then they kick you out, money driven of course. They have no problem preparing you for discharge in a wheelchair even though your baseline before injury was ambulation. Very disappointing!!! Stay away!!!!
Oh no, another healthcare acronym.
