Lucy, a patient at Madonna Rehabilitation, suffered a C-6 spinal cord injury and required mechanical ventilation. She was unable to speak due to the tracheostomy and required alternative means of nutrition. With rehabilitation and the use of the Passy-Muir Valve, Lucy is now weaned from mechanical ventilation, speaking, and beginning to eat meals. Watch Lucy during speech therapy perform vocal fold adduction, Masako maneuver, and other therapy techniques.
